This project involves providing funding for 'fuel reduction' primarily along public road corridors by the Fire District as part of its broader vegetation management fuel reduction program. These road corridor ROWs have been selected by the Fire Department, in some cases requiring participation by the County TPW department.

The reduction and disruption of the horizontal and vertical continuity of vegetation, both live and dead, and beyond the required defensible space
Increase roadway safety (visibility)
Reduce wildfire ignitions
Reduce wildfire intensity near roads and structures to support slowing/stopping a fire and evacuations
Allows aircraft delivered retardant and water to reach the wildfire and adjacent unburned vegetation

This is a vegetation management project consisting of the following:
Cut and remove brush and small trees. Some small trees will be chosen to remain.
Limb up larger trees to have all limbs at least six feet off the ground.
Remove portions of trees and brush that extend over the edge of road surface to a height of 15 feet.
Keep rootballs in place to reduct erosion.
